Review for All the Lovely Bad Ones
All the Lovely Bad Ones

Great read for a fifth and sixth grader who likes ghost mysteries.  The main characters are a brother and sister who are visiting their grandma for the summer at her inn.  They hear that the inn is supposedly haunted and decide that the summer might not be so dull after all.  Ghosts that have been quiet for a while are stirred and chaos ensues.  The children must find a way to undo what they have done.  I enjoyed the read and will look for more books by Mary Downing Hahn.

1:25 pm - 4:35 pm = Started and finished books 1 and 2 in The Haunting of Derek Stone Series by Tony Abbott

Review for City of the Dead and Bayou Dogs
Seems to be my day for mysteries.  These books were both short and quick-paced, so I would recommend them to my reluctant readers.  Derek Stone is in trouble.  The dead are after him because he knows something that could alter the War between the good and the bad dead.  He is on the run with only a few people he can trust.  One of his trusted companions is dead and decaying.  Who knows how long he will be around to help Derek.  I can't wait to find out what happens to him in the next book.
