My Go-To Book

Teaching in Room 6 is having a linky party about Go-To Books for teachers.  When thinking of my go-to book, I always think of Strategies That Work by Stephanie Harvey and Anne Goudvis.  When I first started teaching reading, I needed help in how to explain reading processes to middle school students.  This book really helped me with example lessons and language to use in my lessons.

  1. Thank you so much for linking up! I have never read this book, but it sounds like something that would really help me. I always having students in 5th grade who just don't "get it" when it comes to reading.

  5. I don't know what I would have done without this book. My school gave me the first edition (red cover) and I bought the second edition because of the extra lessons included.

  6. I love this book :) I almost picked it as one of mine for the Linky Party, but I saw you had it so I picked "The Next Step in Guided Reading" by Jan Richardson. Great choice :) Have a happy SUnday!
