This sounds like a vacation with my sister: busy! She tends to pack our schedule. We see a lot, but we are exhausted by the end of the trip! Sounds like fun to me, though.
ReplyDeleteI like this poem! It starts off so crazy and fast and busy--just like a visit to the city, but the last stanza slows it down to rest. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHey, Jana,
ReplyDeleteThis poem kind of reminds me of Georgia Heard's poems in Falling Down the Page: A Book of List Poems.

Have you read that one that one? I like how the last verse, "last view of the ocean/ last meal of the day" is so peacefully contrasted with your other verses! I enjoyed checking out your blog. :)

I love the repeating chorus. It moves your poem right along.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful comments. Poetry is not really something I write very much...well ever. I just couldn't decide how to describe my day without writing a blow by blow account, which I was way too tired to do. I haven't read any of Georgia Heard's poems but I am definitely going to check them out.
